Here is some useful information about the conference. We'll be updating this as we go!
Location:
The conference will be held at the ANU in Canberra. Most of the sessions will be in the Marie Reay teaching building. See this google map for the location of key buildings.
Marie Reay is part of the Kambri Precinct at ANU, which has a variety of food and drink options available for lunch and socializing.
Getting here:
By air: Canberra airport has flights from all domestic Australian carriers. It is about a 20 minute taxi/uber ride
to ANU. The TC #3 Bus service will also take you from the aiport to the downtown interchange, which is a short walk from campus.
By bus: Murray's Coaches runs regular services from Sydney. Busses come in to Jolimont Centre, which is a short walk from campus.
By train: Trains from major cities arrive at Canberra Railway station , which is not conveniently located but is a reasonable taxi/uber/bus ride to campus. Please note that if you're coming from Sydney, the bus is almost always faster and more reliable than the train.
By car: There is paid parking on campus. Please consult the campus parking map for an up to date list of places to park--you'll want the brown or magenta areas. The campus map doesn't make this clear, but there
is also an
underground carpark off of Kingsley St that is directly under Kambri (where most of the talks will be held).
Accomodation:
There is no set accomodation for the conference. Unfortunately, there is no accomodation available on campus.
The Canberra Accomodation Centre has some cheap and cheerful rooms with both ensuite and shared facilities. (This used to be a dorm, and it's pretty obvious)
If you have not been to Canberra in a while, you may not know that we have a Light rail! This means that hotels up and down Northbourne are reasonablly convenient.
The southern terminus at Alinga st. is a short walk to campus (and next to the long-distance bus station and bus exchange)
Social Events:
Wed 6 December 6-8 PM: The opening reception for all registered attendees will be held at Bruce Hall. See map above for location.
Thu 7 December 5:30-7 PM: There will be a public forum on Neuroscience and the Law at the RSSS building. This is free but requires a separate registration here.
Fri 8 December 6:30-close: We have a room reserved at the Dickson Taphouse. No ticketing, please come and enjoy the great menu of food and drink!
